Update from Polish Border

Not something you see everyday…This picture taken at midnight at a train station in Poland that was packed with mostly young people standing in the cold for hours waiting to take a train—not AWAY from war-torn Ukraine—but TO Ukraine.

In Ukraine—every bus ride, every walk to a store, every train ride—every day—could be your last. And still these precious souls long for home.

I literally stood in awe of these courageous folks—with so much to complain about—cold—a long wait—a late night/early morning—returning to a nation under siege featuring sirens, explosions, power outages—and yet I heard singing—I heard laughter—I saw strength of character!

I saw the best of humanity unwilling to yield the road to the worst of humanity.

The next time you are about to complain—don’t.

*Stand at the back of a line like this—with your cup running over—it will change your perspective.
