Jeff Abrams: School in Kharkiv

Meet a hero in the frontline city of Kharkiv—her name is Viktoria—and she has a special place in her heart for children—lots of children—especially those that others seem to have forgotten.

When the fullscale invasion began nearly 4 years ago, her city, located next to the border with Russia, was especially dangerous—and still is… She could have fled—but she stayed. And for this reason many children are extra blessed.

Viktoria runs a school for children who learn better in the classroom rather than online (due to war, most schools in Kharkiv only offer online education. A few schools operate in the underground subway system).

Viktoria, her excellent staff, and all the school’s expenses are paid by whatever funds she can raise online.

Her school is obviously a place “where love grows” and it was a great honor to spend a little time with these special folks.

I’m grateful for heroes like Viktoria who tirelessly give of themselves to make life better for others.

*I’ve tagged her above if you want to go to her FB page and help out…🙂

**Her school is located in a very modest facility next to the park where 14 year old Sophia was killed in a missile attack last year—and who was the inspiration for our teddy bear campaign to remember the children of Ukraine. Their school was damaged, but thankfully no injuries…
