Good news from Brovary
Greetings to you, brothers and sisters with the love of Jesus Christ!
As you can see on this map, I have underlined Brovary with a blue line so that you can better see how close the Russian troops have come to our city, where active work is now being done for the Lord's work.
(March 25, 2025) I baptized a woman, Svetlana, who survived the occupation in the village of Skibin, you can see on the map the red background is the area that was under Russian control. Miraculously God saved the city of Brovary from terrible destruction.
Your prayers have helped us preserve more territory and save our lives.
It is almost impossible to imagine what would have happened to us and how we would have been able to cope with all the consequences of this war if it were not for your support, love and care...
On April 4, 2022, I moved to Brovary and began my ministry here. Many things have changed during this time, there are more opportunities to serve the Lord.
In the period 2024-2025 three peope have been baptized.
I have worked and am working very hard to make the congregation grow both numerically and spiritually.
Baptisms:
March 31, 2024 - Lyubov Vasilyevna September 1, 2024 - Olga Petrovna March 25, 2025 - Svetlana Yakovlevna
Sunday Worship:
At the beginning of my ministry in this city there were critically few people in my community, but after a while, with the help of prayers and ministry to people, God has given people who have a desire to come to serve God together with our Christians, some of them are locals, some are refugees, to whom we always help as much as we can.
In our congregation, many Christians have big problems in their families. Whether it is a grandson killed in a war, an alcoholic son, a broken home, and so on.
I am very glad that God gives me the opportunity to encourage and support them in difficult times, when they especially need the care and the love of the Lord.
Study the Bible:
Every week I conduct the Bible study. Now we go through the Gospel of Luke. After that, I plan to study the religion of the world with people in order to strengthen their belief that only Jesus Christ is our way to eternal life.
When I first started Bible lessons in 2024, it was personal meetings with 1-2 people, but later, God blessed me with people who value this time of spiritual education.
We are very thankful to our brother Jeff for Ukrainian translation of bibles, which are now a gift from the Church of Christ!
Youth Ministry.
Youth ministry was general for kids and teens at first since there were few children.
Hard work, evangelizing, work with refugees, meetings with parents have brought their fruits: now I hold two youth meetings every week: one for the younger group (up to 12 years old) and one for the older group (12 years old and up, teenagers).
My goal is for our congregation to have a future. Children are the future of the church. I invest a lot of time to nurture these kids, bringing them closer to God, and I see that there are those who are willing to work more on their spiritual growth.
That is very encouraging!
Youth group development is the time we spend together, in the church building, outdoors, and so on. I get them involved in working in the church, cleaning, helping with the humanitarian program.
They learn how to serve the Lord.
Our youth meetings usually last from 3 to 4 hours, not counting other activities with our youth.
Refugee Ministry Each month I teach classes at the church building and in a modular town where are up to 150 people live. All these people left their homes and moved to Brovary because of the terrible and unjust war. Many of these people have lost not only their property but also their health, some have lost their hearing and have been canted, some have suffered psychologically, some physically.
I am in constant contact with these people, and every time one of them is willing, I take them in my car to the church for lessons. I regularly call and talk to those who have begun to become more interested in the church. Some of the youth group members I met at these meetings.
My goal is to be a friend to these people that they can always turn to for help, primarily spiritual help.
Serving refugees is a very important for the church!
The photo was taken during the funeral ceremony of Lyubov Vasilievna's grandson, whom I baptized a few months before her grandson Ivan died in the war, who was 21 years old.
This is the price of our freedom, the freedom of Ukraine!
Praise the Lord for all these opportunities!
