Even in War, the Church Continues to Grow
This morning, people in Drohobych gathered for worship under air-raid sirens.
For many Ukrainians, this has become part of our reality. Sometimes we walk to church while the sirens are sounding. Sometimes we worship while hearing explosions in the distance.
But we do not want fear to become stronger than our desire to worship God.
At the same time, we understand the seriousness of the danger and do our best to follow safety procedures and take shelter when necessary. Faith does not mean ignoring danger. It means trusting God while doing everything we can to protect the lives He has entrusted to us.
What encouraged me most today was seeing around 70 people gathered in Drohobych. Many of them are new to the church. Only a small number have been baptized so far, but people continue coming—to worship, to study God’s Word, to pray, and to learn what it means to follow Christ.
The meeting place was so full that there was barely any room left—even for the preacher!
This is a beautiful reminder that God continues working even in the middle of war. Churches are growing, people are searching for hope, and the Gospel continues to be preached.
Please keep praying for the Christians in Drohobych and throughout Ukraine. Pray for peace, safety, courage, and for God’s Word to continue changing lives.
